An AED, or automated external defibrillator, can save the life of someone in your fitness facility, but most health centers don’t have one. They cite either the cost of the device (price varies by make and mode; most cost around $3,500), the time and cost of training, or simply lack of knowledge about what it is and how it can save a life. This trend is changing, however, and more fitness facilities are deciding to have an AED at their facility.
